Worshiping Atlanta-Style!
This past week I had the pleasure of attending two great worship services at two of Atlanta’s best. They are transforming lives through authentic and engaging worship:
The first was the Night of Worship at Browns Bridge Community Church. Night of Worship was the first live-streamed event from Browns Bridge. The event was mixed live in the new broadcast audio studio put together by BBCC audio director Chris Briley and his great team of volunteers and staff.
The new studio: *design by Chris Briley (Ikea and Lowes)
Instead of purchasing a console for the studio, BBCC was able to extend control and functions of its Pro Tools HD rig at front of house through some creative Cat5 and Ethernet extensions. While tracking the service, the studio engineer mixes live independently from FOH on Avid MC-Fader controllers and Waves plugins. Thank you to Elliot Moon and the fantastically talented musicians and volunteers at BBCC in Cumming, GA.
Secondly, I attended weekend services at Free Chapel Gainesville, GA. Sunday service was led by Israel Houghton and the Free Chapel band. Israel did double-duty by delivering amazing experiences both from stage and pulpit. The usual packed house at FC was treated with audio and visual mastery from Armando Fullwood at FOH and Matt Moreland on lights. Thanks goes to audio engineer David Lopez, Music Director Paul Smith and the amazing team at Free Chapel for an unbelievable weekend!
Israel Houghton:
Check in with us often as we invite worship leaders, artists and tech experts to share their gifts and knowledge with the worship community.

A weekend to Celebrate!
Travis Boyette (@Tboyette) from WAVE Atlanta and Armando Fullwood (@armandofullwood) from WAVE Charlotte take the weekend to hang out with the crews from Celebrate Church in Jacksonville, FL and Celebrate Church in Austin, TX.
This two-for-one trip netted some great fellowship, great friends and even greater worship experiences at these two amazing campuses!
WAVE would also like to recognize Armando for placing first at the Celebrate Austin Momentum Accelerate car show in the rental car non-modified stock division. Armando entered his 2011 Nissan Altima ‘Hertz Edition’ and ‘stole the show’ as stated by Worship Pastor Daniel Gonzales. Armando rolled in on his standard 4 issue General radials with super light-weight (plastic) rim covers. Once the other car show attendees heard the Nissan 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine coming down the road their spirits and hopes to win were crushed. The bright Austin sun gleamed off the one coat, machine applied Ocean Grey exterior directly into the eyes of our competition. Windows down (no tint cause that’s how we roll), we hit them hard with the factory installed Digital Bose® audio system with AM/FM/CD and 4.3″ color display. Our standard interior included a sick vinyl dash with a machine stitched vinyl/plastic gearshift. And oh what a sweet gearshift that was controlling its electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT) (front wheel drive holla!). We slammed into our parking spot with our 11.7″ front vented disc/11.5″ rear disc brakes (factory spec), popped the hood (stock), opened the doors (stock) and showed off our generous amounts of leg room and ‘family friendly’ seating (again, stock). Many a passer-by (on there way to the restrooms) were blown away by our iridium tipped spark plugs which are standard issue!!! ’Iridium tipped??? Is this car from the future???’ says anonymous pastor. Our entry was really the only choice (literally, the only choice) to win this competition and Armando was very happy to share his extensive knowledge of rental cars with the real the other car owners at Accelerate.
‘To the victor go the spoils’ (we didn’t win anything):
Seriously though…
WAVE would like to thank Celebration Church Jacksonville, Lead Pastor Stovall Weems and his wife Kerri along with Worship Director Jeff McDuffie and his amazing worship and production team for their hospitality and fellowship at the 2011 Shine Conference. We would also like to thank Celebration Church Austin with Senior Pastors Joe and Lori Champion along with Worship Arts Pastor Daniel Gonzales and his amazing worship and production team at the 2011 Momentum Accelerate Conference.
